I would allow time to heal and if scar is still present would take action. However, microdermabrasion would not be the action I would take.If the scar is amenable, I would try a filler. When Evolence Breeze is approved this might be the ideal filler. It is a long-lastilng collagen filler. Otherwise, the hyaluronic acid fillers would be acceptable. Fillers last longer for scars than when they are placed for wrinklles or lines.If fillers are not helpful, a punch excision with or without Fraxel ReStore should be attempted
It will take at least 20 microdermbrasions before you can perceive any significant improvement for your acne scar. If the scar is small and filler injection is unsatisfactory, another viable option would include small punch excision followed by TCA chemical peel or fractional CO2 laser resurfacing 6-8 weeks afterwards.
